Students are excited to have a variety of snacks to choose from, especially cold options that have not been an option prior to this project. With a classroom refrigerator, I'm able to have a place to keep fruit, cheese sticks, and bottled water chilled. A refrigerator has also helped to provide healthier snack options that I have not been able to provide in the past. Students enjoy going to the refrigerator to pick a snack of their choice. \r\nWhen my refrigerator arrived, I wasn't aware of what package(s) I was receiving because it was delivered to the office and I was just notified that I had \"packages\". When I sent two students down to bring it back to my room, I noticed it was taking a while. I checked out in the hall and they were pushing this cart with wheels and a huge box on it, with huge smiles on their faces! \"Mrs. Zinn! The shelves were full of books... until nearly 90 students had the opportunity to select a Spanish book that matched their reading level and interests. Now, our Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 students each have their own book to read for the second quarter of the year - and the excitement has been incredible!\r\n\r\nEvery day, we dedicate 10 to 15 minutes to reading in Spanish. Students are thrilled to apply the language skills they've worked hard to develop, and many have already shared how proud they feel to understand and enjoy a story entirely in Spanish. To demonstrate their comprehension, they are completing a reading packet that will be turned in before winter break. When we return in January, they'll have the chance to read two more books before the end of the year!\r\n\r\nYour donation has made it possible for my students to experience authentic, joyful reading in Spanish - something that truly builds confidence and fluency.
