Many of our generous supporters use technology at home, but in our classroom, technology is more than just a device—it is a bridge to language, confidence, and opportunity. With their new headphones, students can fully access Chromebook-based reading programs, writing activities, math fluency practice, and language development platforms without distraction. Clear, focused audio allows them to hear correct pronunciation, follow along with modeled reading, and engage in interactive lessons at their own pace. For students building English proficiency, the ability to clearly hear language patterns, vocabulary, and instructions is essential—and now they can do so with dignity and independence.\r\n\r\nWhat excites them most is the sense of ownership and importance these headphones bring. Something as simple as putting them on helps students feel focused, responsible, and ready to learn. They love being able to immerse themselves in digital stories, phonics practice, and math games without outside noise interrupting their concentration. Several students who were previously hesitant to participate have especially warmed to this technology. One student who often struggled to focus now beams with pride as he independently completes online reading assignments. Another student, new to the country, has gained confidence by replaying directions and listening to modeled speech privately, reducing anxiety and increasing participation. The headphones have also allowed students to join bilingual after-school story time from home, strengthening family connections and making literacy a joyful shared experience.\r\n\r\nMy students are an extraordinary group of learners who come to school each day with resilience, kindness, and an incredible hunger to grow. Many come from low-income households and attend a historically underfunded school, yet they show up with hope and determination. These headphones may seem simple, but they send a powerful message: your learning matters. Because of your generosity, my students feel seen, supported, and empowered. You have helped create a classroom environment where they can listen with focus, learn with confidence, and continue thriving. Thank you for investing in their voices, their growth, and their future.","fullyFundedDate":1768674955871,"projectUrl":"project/listening-to-success-supporting-ells-wi/10026386/","projectTitle":"Listening to Success: Supporting ELLs With Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ruchman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3609172_orig.jpg?crop=558,558,x55,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1706707345599","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3609172"},{"teacherId":432650,"projectId":9910440,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to our Play-Doh project.
