By being able to offer flexible seating, my students can learn while having a chance to move their bodies to help maintain their concentration. Wiggle chairs are so beneficial for all my students. Especially for learners who need extra sensory and physical accommodations to support them in the classroom. Students use these wiggle chairs throughout the day during small group rotations at my teacher table, during assessments, and they also can switch out their regular chairs for a wiggle chair at their table spots. \r\nThe reaction to our new flexible seating was such a wonderful thing to see! I told them that we had a special delivery and we all opened our packages together. As soon as the wiggle chairs were revealed, students were thrilled! Everyone was so excited and told me they could not wait to use them. They screamed 'thank you' and I made sure to tell them it was all from the amazing donors that made this possible for them. Every day, my class utilizes these chairs. It has given them the chance to have choice in how they sit which contributes to their focus, collaboration and engagement throughout the day. \r\nAn update on my classroom is that these next two weeks before Christmas break are going to be so magical! We are going to be making gingerbread houses in class, have a holiday party, and we will be hosting a pancake breakfast where families can come join us and have a delicious meal together!
