For many of them, having quality equipment made the soccer program feel more official and exciting. The new goals have allowed us to run more organized practices and game-like drills, giving students a better opportunity to develop their skills and confidence on the field. When the students first saw the goals assembled, they immediately wanted to start shooting and competing in small-sided games.\r\n\r\nThe new ball cart has also made a huge difference in our daily practices. It keeps all of our soccer balls organized and easily accessible, which helps maximize practice time and allows us to focus on instruction rather than searching for equipment. An added benefit is that the cart fits perfectly in my office, making storage simple and helping us keep our equipment secure and in excellent condition.\r\n\r\nAs we continue to build our soccer program, these resources will support skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students are currently working on passing, ball control, and game strategy, and the new equipment allows us to create more engaging and effective training sessions. Thank you for investing in our students and helping provide opportunities that encourage healthy activity, personal growth, and a love of the game.","fullyFundedDate":1769552159918,"projectUrl":"project/vaas-spring-2026/10037127/","projectTitle":"VAAS Spring 2026","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. San Jose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10242762"},{"teacherId":10242762,"projectId":10078359,"letterContent":"Our students have been incredibly excited as we begin building our very first boys tennis team. The new equipment has allowed us to introduce tennis in a structured and engaging way, even for students who have never picked up a racket before. One of the most memorable moments so far was our first organized practice, where students rotated through skill stations focused on serving, rallying, and footwork. With enough equipment for everyone, students stayed active the entire time, supporting each other and celebrating small improvements. It's been powerful to watch them grow more confident with each practice.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new tennis equipment, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. Many of them immediately asked when tryouts would begin or if they could stay after school to practice. For some, this is their first opportunity to be part of a tennis program, and they've taken great pride in being pioneers of something new on campus. The sense of ownership and school pride has been incredible to witness.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are preparing for our first official matches and continuing to build foundational skills and teamwork. Students are setting personal goals, learning match etiquette, and beginning to understand strategy through practice play. We are also developing leadership within the team, encouraging players to mentor one another and help shape the culture of this new program. Thanks to your support, our students are not just learning a sport—they are building a legacy that will continue for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1770434113707,"projectUrl":"project/vaas-tennis/10078359/","projectTitle":"VAAS Tennis","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. San Jose","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10242762"},{"teacherId":10088180,"projectId":9643282,"letterContent":"This project has truly revolutionized our P.E. class, opening the doors for students to engage with high-quality instruction and diverse sports activities. The introduction of nets for sports like volleyball, badminton, and pickleball has ignited a newfound excitement among the students. They are not only eager to explore the versatility of these sports but also enthusiastic about learning the new skills each sport entails. As we delve into playing pickleball, the availability of the proper equipment like nets and balls has significantly enhanced the quality of our lessons. The positive impact is evident in the students' increased participation, enthusiasm, and overall enjoyment of physical education.","fullyFundedDate":1756939449450,"projectUrl":"project/active-pe-/9643282/","projectTitle":"Active PE !","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Saldivar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10088180_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756274036597","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10088180"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_101798","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":660,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":62,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.4,"schoolId":101798,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Valley Academy Arts & Sciences on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Valley Academy Arts & Sciences","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/valley-academy-of-arts-sciences-vrhs-4-/101798"}
