This will be my first year teaching high school after 10 years of teaching the middle grades! I need your support in building a classroom library that will promote and inspire a love of literacy in my new classroom. The books purchased through your donation will ensure that my students have access to reading material that will spark curiosity, empathy, and critical thinking about the world at large. In order to grow as readers and writers, students require meaningful and regular opportunities to fully engage with texts that interest and inspire them. In addition to reading assigned materials, I want my students to have the opportunity to experience the pleasure and joy that comes from independently discovering a book that they love. Students will be able to borrow the books in our class library to read independently both at school and home.
