It has supported them in being independent in their new position. They are using this space to find their schedule, learn more about their job duties, and to pick up the materials they need to do their job. It prevents students from having to go to multiple locations for the information and supplies that they need, and allows the classroom to stay organized so it is a functioning space for teaching and learning. \r\n\r\nA student recently told me that the new patrol board and supply area looks like something from \"a real job!\" I was able to use the opportunity to explain that it is like a real job and that others are relying upon them to make sure it gets done. We talked about how this is great practice for when they have a paying job in their future. I believe it will help support them in becoming more independent in reading a schedule and using the resources available to do their best!\r\n\r\nYour donation also provided me with the supplies that I needed to create gold badges to post above their lockers. Many families were taking pictures of their students in front of their locker with their badge proudly displayed during our back-to-school open house event. They are taking ownership of this important leadership role and are proud to display it on their lockers.","fullyFundedDate":1745515867469,"projectUrl":"project/school-patrol-leadership-club/9264167/","projectTitle":"School Patrol Leadership Club!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lupo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3324709_orig.jpg?crop=2469,2469,x322,y403&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745336828832","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3324709"},{"teacherId":10247133,"projectId":9695227,"letterContent":"I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for your generous donation to our classroom! Because of your support, we were able to get so many new materials — and wow, what a difference they're already making.\r\n\r\nThe materials arrived today and it felt like a mini holiday. My students' faces lit up as I started unpacking everything. They were so excited to see the new books — many of them immediately started flipping through the pages and asking if they could start reading right away. They were also really curious about the fraction tiles, and the headphones had several of them cheering because they'd been sharing or using broken pairs before.\r\n\r\nNext up: students will use fraction manipulatives to solve real-life problems — like cooking recipes and measuring activities — and even create their own \"fraction posters\" to teach others what they've learned. It's fun, hands-on, and way more engaging than a worksheet.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity to learn in a fun, interactive, and meaningful way — it truly means a lot to all of us.","fullyFundedDate":1759199529094,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-our-learners/9695227/","projectTitle":"Engaging Our Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pixley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10247133"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_73976","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":557,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":58,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.6,"schoolId":73976,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about University Avenue Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"University Avenue Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/minnesota/anoka-hennepin-ind-sch-dist-11/university-avenue-elementary-school/73976"}
