As part of our science curriculum, students explored the habitats of six major animal groups—insects, reptiles, birds, fish, amphibians, and mammals—and learned what each habitat must provide for survival. They researched animals and ecosystems, then used TinkerCAD to design digital habitats that reflected their understanding of these essential needs. Through this project, students deepened their understanding of ecosystems and animal adaptations while building critical problem-solving, design, and engineering skills. As they tested and revised their models for successful printing, they experienced authentic design thinking and applied their learning in meaningful, non-traditional ways.\r\n\r\nWith the 3D printer and filament, those digital designs became physical models students could build, refine, and proudly showcase. What once ended as a digital image became a hands-on learning experience that connected science, technology, engineering, art, and math. \r\n\r\nThis investment created lasting impact beyond one project. The 3D printer became an ongoing resource for future science, math, engineering, and art experiences.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, students moved from simply imagining and designing to creating tangible models that brought learning to life. Several students who don't always have the opportunity to demonstrate their academic skills through traditional methods were incredibly excited to complete this project. Seeing their confidence grow and their pride shine through was an unforgettable experience. Your support helped shape confident creators, innovators, and problem-solvers.","fullyFundedDate":1766619755722,"projectUrl":"project/from-digital-design-to-tangible-discover/9729042/","projectTitle":"From Digital Design to Tangible Discovery: Transforming Learning Through Creation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Doskins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9247594_orig.jpg?crop=1980,1980,x0,y330&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693843849312","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9247594"},{"teacherId":9636216,"projectId":9163926,"letterContent":"My students and I couldn't be more grateful for the classroom supplies we received. I received a few boxes each day and we opened them as a class. Each one of their faces lit up as I held up new items for them to use. They were so excited about one specific item that we opened them all up and tested them out right away! They LOVE the mini magnetic drawing boards. Since opening them, we use them as tools for writing quick math facts and partner quizzes. \r\n\r\nOne of the items with the biggest impact on my room was the pack of headphones. Most of my students come into class without a pair of their own. These are crucial for testing season. We took fall tests on chromebooks in mid August and every single student was able to have headphone. This allows them to listen to the videos and brain breaks during this exam. Without headphones, students miss a lot of what they need to be successful on this computer based exam. \r\n\r\nAgain, we could not be more thankful for the abundance of generosity that you've shown our classroom and we can't wait to keep using our supplies!!","fullyFundedDate":1746554824242,"projectUrl":"project/success-comes-in-all-shapes-and-sizes/9163926/","projectTitle":"Success Comes in All Shapes and Sizes!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9636216"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41347","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":280,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":59,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.7,"schoolId":41347,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eugene Field Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Eugene Field Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/littleton-public-school-district-6/ugene-field-elementary-school/41347"}
