Because of your donation, my students finally have a comfortable, designated area for learning during our whole group lessons. When we first received the carpet, my students were so excited. They cheered and could not wait to try it out! Since then, our whole group meeting times have become more organized and focused. My students know exactly where to sit and are more comfortable when sitting on the floor.\r\nWe use our carpet every day in a variety of ways. Students all have an assigned smiley face to sit on. This ensures that they always sit in the same spot but they still have space to move around. With the assigned seats, I was able to give students a carpet partner when they turn and talk. This partner always stays the same and this has helped with the efficiency of talking to a partner as well as the quality of their conversations! We have even used our carpet in math as a ten frame! In addition to using our carpet for whole group lessons, the students also use this area for independent or partner activities. Our carpet provides a comfortable place to work when students do not want to sit at their desk. We are so thankful to finally have a bright, colorful, designated space to work.
