I love for my students to be able to get creative and express themselves. They LOVE to use markers and having markers that are close to their own skin colors is just an amazing thing to see! They were so excited when I brought them out so we could decorate our All About Me posters. These posters will be displayed in the hallway on the walls and on their lockers. \r\n Students are serious about their work, especially their artwork. They want (and like) to be comfortable. Our flexible seating options are great! My students like to have the ability to sit on the floor, recline, move around, or just pull out a stool and sit somewhere besides their own desk. I like to give them these opportunities to get more comfortable so they are able to focus more and concentrate deeper.\r\n Again, THANK YOU for all of our donated items!","fullyFundedDate":1746717728420,"projectUrl":"project/all-jaguars-can-be-creative/9096464/","projectTitle":"All Jaguars Can Be Creative","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4526402_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740781887614","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4526402"},{"teacherId":427815,"projectId":9183903,"letterContent":"Thank you again for generously supporting this project. The tablet you helped provide have had a profound impact on my students, especially in math. By recording themselves teaching lessons, my students have not only deepened their understanding of the material but have also gained valuable communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. This hands-on approach has empowered them to truly master the subject matter as they prepare to \"Be the Teacher\" for a day, while also reinforcing their learning through peer-to-peer sharing.\r\nWhat excites my students most is the opportunity to be on camera and showcase their knowledge. They eagerly embrace the chance to teach their peers and reflect on their lessons. All of my students have embraced this technology, and it has become an invaluable resource for them to review and revisit concepts at their own pace. Thanks to your support, my students are more confident and actively engaged in their education, and this project has opened doors for them to explore, grow, and succeed. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My Jaguars and I want to really thank you for generously donating to my very first DonorsChoose project, \"Not All Jaguars Sit The Same Way!\" It really means a lot to us.\r\n My students LOVE the colorful stools and they each race to get their favorite color. Even our virtual Spanish teacher, whom we only see once a week, commented on how cool the stools looked. The vibrant colors not only brighten up our room but they give my students the opportunity to choose what to sit on which can make such a huge difference on some days.\r\n The headphones come in handy every time we use our chromebooks, which is practically everyday. The different colors make it easier to find their own quickly.\r\n The pencil pouches came just in time for the 2 new students I received, as well as for the 2 others that go between houses quite often (every week), thus misplacing their belongings more often than not. One of the students chooses to keep his in school so he doesn't lose it.\r\n I received 2 blue chairs with grey pads (for their bottoms) that sit close to the floor. A couple of my students really enjoy using those. When asked why, they just shrug and tell me because it's different and more comfortable.\r\n Overall, we are all ecstatic to have our new things!","fullyFundedDate":1733235612796,"projectUrl":"project/not-all-jaguars-sit-the-same-way/8781082/","projectTitle":"Not All Jaguars Sit the Same Way","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4526402_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740781887614","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4526402"},{"teacherId":9619370,"projectId":8796797,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing the resources that made our project possible! My students recently worked with our cipher decoders and invisible ink pens to create and crack encrypted messages. This hands-on project helped them understand the importance of cybersecurity in protecting personal and financial information. Through teamwork, they simulated real-life scenarios, such as safeguarding passwords for personal and financial information. Using books like \"Chicken Clicking\" and \"Webster's Email,\" they connected these activities to broader lessons about online safety, sparking meaningful discussions about how to stay secure in a digital world.\r\nThe impact of these materials was immediate and exciting. When the students first saw the invisible ink pens and the cipher decoders, their faces lit up with curiosity and enthusiasm. They were thrilled to dive into activities that combined fun with real-world applications. Watching them crack codes and uncover hidden messages made learning come alive in a way that felt both relevant and exciting. These resources didn't just teach them concepts; they ignited their imaginations and fostered a deeper understanding of how encryption works to protect critical data.\r\nNext, my students will apply what they've learned by creating a \"Cyber Safety Handbook\" to share with their peers. This project will allow them to compile their knowledge from the activities and books, designing practical tips for protecting personal and financial information. They'll also work on crafting strong, secure passwords to help manage their mock financial accounts responsibly. This journey has inspired them to take ownership of their digital safety while preparing for a future where financial literacy and cybersecurity are essential.
