From interactive math centers and engaging literacy games to social-emotional learning lessons and visual supports, these resources allow me to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. As a special education teacher, I see every day how important it is for students to have tools that meet them where they are—and because of you, they do.\r\n\r\n The LEGO Creator sets have quickly become a favorite during skill-building activities. My students are practicing problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance as they build dinosaurs, parrots, unicorns, and even the Disney Up house. Our new math and science tools are making abstract concepts more concrete. In a resource setting, hands-on materials make all the difference. Students who once felt unsure about measurement or data are now actively pouring, balancing, and graphing with growing confidence.\r\n\r\n The sensory tools and fidgets have also had a powerful impact. In my classroom I have used mostly watercolors as the medium of choice for any painting project that we have done, but last semester I tried acrylics with my other school and it opened a whole new field of ideas and abilities for my students. \r\n\r\nAcrylics work completely differently then watercolors. If you make a mistake with acrylics an artist can simply paint over what they do not like. In watercolors, you can try and paint over mistakes, but will always look different then everything else--in cannot blend in. This is what my students learned--there is a way to paint something and change it, if that is needed in some way. They can now paint without fear and that is an incredible gift.","fullyFundedDate":1764779779295,"projectUrl":"project/acrylics-for-our-school/9925870/","projectTitle":"Acrylics for Our School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thain","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8707938_orig.jpg?crop=2009,2009,x184,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663623893470","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8707938"},{"teacherId":7726682,"projectId":9930100,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting my classroom. They will learn how to garden and take care of the plants. They will need water and plant food, They will have to measure the correct amount of food. Small things that we might just take for granted. \r\n\r\nThis gives my students a chance to have leadership role in the class as they will be assigned a class duty to manage the garden, make sure there is water in tank, food, and the light moved up as not to burn the leaves. \r\n\r\nWatching science in action. The arrival of the new picture books has sparked a renewed energy in our reading nook, and my students were absolutely thrilled to explore the vibrant stories and illustrations you helped provide. By using these high-quality picture books, I've watched my students' engagement soar as they find personal connections to the themes we discuss. Through these books, my students have traveled to different countries, learned about unique traditions, and gained a better understanding of the diverse situations people face globally.
