Comprehension can be so boring and these blocks helped to liven it up. I had students pair up, roll the dice, and then take turns asking each other questions about the short story using the questions on the blocks. It was loud, but fun and helped to diversify class.\r\n\r\nI also purchased a spelling book and handwriting books. The spelling lists have exposed students to a myriad of words they didn't know before and had been helpful in helping them recognize word patterns and practice their spelling.\r\n\r\nI purchased two handwriting books. One on print handwriting and one on cursive. There is a big need to improve handwriting and most students recognize that and liked practicing.","fullyFundedDate":1744220046883,"projectUrl":"project/tools-to-help-students-read/9186752/","projectTitle":"Tools to Help Students Read","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Neeley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8277602"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53713","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":917,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":44.8,"schoolId":53713,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Thomas Jefferson Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Thomas Jefferson Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/granite-school-district/thomas-jefferson-junior-high-school/53713"}
