It is amazing for the students to have a brand-new instrument to play on. Because it is electric, rather than acoustic, we are now able to control the volume of the playing. This has made a tremendous difference for our Band Club, which meets during the school day. Not only are we now able to play the drums at a lower volume than with a full-size acoustic set, we are also able to turn down the volume on all of the other amps for the bands' instruments since they no longer need to be heard over the drums. With other classes in session around us, this makes a tremendous difference in our noise level and in how much we disturb our neighboring classes. Additionally, the lower volume has an added bonus of protecting our young musicians' ears from potential damage related to loud volumes during our rehearsals. \r\n\r\nWe are extremely fortunate to be a part of such a generous community. With the support of our donors, our project was fully funded within a matter of days. This allowed our drum set to be purchased and delivered in time for our school's first-ever Open Mic Night, which was hosted by our Band Club.
