Instead of only seeing diagrams in a textbook or on a screen, they can now hold and manipulate models in their hands. In Chemistry, students use 3D-printed atoms and bonding pieces to physically build molecules, model chemical reactions, and better understand concepts like molecular geometry and chemical bonding. Abstract ideas become tangible, and students are much more engaged because they can experiment, make mistakes, and rebuild their models as they learn.\r\n\r\nIn Anatomy and Physiology, the impact has been just as exciting. Students can examine and handle detailed models of organs, bones, and body structures that they would otherwise only see in pictures. They are able to label the models with dry-erase markers, take them home to study, and explore anatomical relationships from every angle. This hands-on experience has helped many students, especially visual and tactile learners, develop a much deeper understanding of the human body.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts has been watching students who sometimes struggle with traditional lectures become leaders during hands-on activities. Students who learn best by doing are more confident, ask more questions, and often help their classmates understand difficult concepts. The excitement in the classroom is contagious whenever we introduce a new printed model.\r\n\r\nThe possibilities continue to grow. Over the summer, I am designing and printing even more anatomy models and chemistry manipulatives so that next year's students will have an even richer hands-on experience. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, these printers are becoming an essential part of how we teach science, making learning more interactive, memorable, and accessible for every student.","fullyFundedDate":1776117470577,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printers-for-high-school-science/10068454/","projectTitle":"3D Printers for High School Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Vincent","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10421759"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53012","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2735,"numTeachers":108,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":9,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"25.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":81.4,"schoolId":53012,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Temecula Valley High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Temecula Valley High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/temecula-valley-unified-school-district/temecula-valley-high-school/53012"}
