Our fifth-grade students participate in an 18-week ukulele unit, where they learn foundational skills such as chords, strumming patterns, and reading music. For many of them, this is their very first opportunity to play a stringed instrument, and it is incredible to watch their confidence grow week by week.\r\n\r\nOur younger students also benefit from these instruments throughout the year. They are introduced to the ukulele in developmentally appropriate ways, giving them early exposure to string instruments and building excitement for the musical opportunities ahead of them.\r\n\r\nAs a certified ukulele instructor, I've had the privilege of bringing my experience from the private teaching world into the public school classroom. Your donation allows me to provide a higher level of instruction and give students an authentic, hands-on musical experience that mirrors what they might receive in private lessons—something many of our families would not otherwise have access to.\r\n\r\nBeyond the musical skills, these ukuleles are helping students develop perseverance, collaboration, and self-expression.
