I wish you could have seen my third graders' faces when I opened the boxes. There were gasps, cheers, and at least one student who asked if we were \"allowed to touch them for real.\" I've included photos from our unboxing so you can see some of that excitement for yourself.\r\n\r\nWe started with the basics. Students practiced tracing simple shapes on templates, learning how to control the pens and how the filament flows and hardens. With four pens and a full curriculum to teach, we've kept our focus on shapes for now. Students take turns in small groups, and they watch each other closely while they wait, so everyone learns from every turn.\r\n\r\nWhat has surprised me most is how much the pens have built patience and perseverance. When a shape doesn't turn out right, students don't give up. They look at what went wrong, adjust, and try again. They're also collaborating more, sharing tips and helping each other figure things out. My classroom has a wide range of learners, and these pens give every one of them a hands-on way to create and succeed, whether or not they're strongest with paper and pencil.\r\n\r\nYour gift is reaching even further than my classroom. The pens and filament will become part of our school's STEM lab, so many more children will get the chance to design and build with them. My students are proud to have been the first to try them out.\r\n\r\nYour generosity gave our students more than supplies.
