All of my students are dyslexic learners who benefit from structured literacy instruction and high-interest texts that support their developing skills. Books such as Junie B. Jones, Fudge, Ralph S. Mouse by Beverly Cleary, and the Goosebumps series provide short chapters, humor, and exciting storylines that keep students motivated while they practice essential reading skills. These texts allow us to work on decoding strategies, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary in a way that feels meaningful and fun.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is very interactive and supportive. Students often read in small groups, partner read, or listen while following along in the text to build confidence and accuracy. We pause frequently to discuss characters, make predictions, and connect the story to our own experiences. These moments help students strengthen comprehension while also giving them the opportunity to share their ideas and feel successful as readers.\r\n\r\nAlready, I am seeing students who were once hesitant to pick up a book eagerly asking to continue reading the next chapter. One student recently shared that they loved how funny the Junie B. Jones books are, while another student cannot wait to see what happens next in Goosebumps. Moments like these are powerful because they show students beginning to view themselves as readers. Your generosity has not only provided books for my classroom, but it has also helped my students discover the joy and confidence that comes from reading.","fullyFundedDate":1768683032583,"projectUrl":"project/closing-the-reading-gap-for-dyslexic-lea/10027750/","projectTitle":"Closing the Reading Gap for Dyslexic Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bledsoe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10405952"},{"teacherId":9448350,"projectId":9113137,"letterContent":"Thank you for all your contributions.
