All of my theatre arts students will get the opportunity to learn introductory fantasy make-up design concepts in fun lessons where they will turn each other into Toros (Spanish for bulls) or Wildcats. My drama club and Junior Thespians will go further by using these materials as the foundation for fund-raising on their own. They will develop a business and marketing plan to raise money and budget for future events - like Junior Thespian Festival in Dallas, TX! - and purchasing supplies to improve our theatre, like costumes, lighting and sound equipment. With the supplies requested in this project, which include face paint, stencils, and colored hairspray, we will set up face painting booths (Called Spirit Spray Tents) at community events to increase awareness and support of our program, as well as increase school spirit. Theatre students will paint toros or bull horn on faces or spray our school color in stripes on customers' hair. Besides teaching makeup technique and safety, our goal is to raise enough money to charter a Junior Thespian troupe, travel to Dallas, TX for the International Junior Thespian Festival, and go see the Broadway touring production of Cinderella.
