My students need a class set of A Dog's Purpose to make connections and find a love for reading. The class set of books will help students find a love for reading by engaging them in a book that is not the typical book they read in school. Students have shown a love for animals and a concern for the strays located around their community. By reading this book, students can make real-life connections by not only making connections to their own lives and "purpose" but also finding empathy in the lives of others. By reading "A Dog's Purpose" students will make connections to their lives and implement skills from core classes like English/Language Arts, Science, and History to make these connections and share ideas and inferences regarding book content.
