Because of your kindness, we are turning what was once an empty space into a true haven of support for our students.\r\nSo many of our students arrive at school facing challenges that go beyond academics — whether it's a child who forgot a meal, a student who needs a fresh change of clothes, or a young person simply in need of basic essentials to get through the day. The Care Closet will make it possible for me to meet those needs quietly, compassionately, and with dignity.\r\nYour contribution has made a direct and tangible difference. Because of donors like you, our students will have access to hygiene products, clothing, snacks, and other essentials — all within the safe and trusted space of the nursing office. Many of these children will never know where the help came from, but they will feel the warmth and security that your generosity made possible.\r\nIt is an honor to serve a community that shows up for its students the way you have. This Care Closet would not exist without your belief in our mission and your willingness to give.\r\nThank you, from the bottom of my heart, for investing in the health and well-being of our students. I hope you know what a meaningful impact you have made.","fullyFundedDate":1761924830372,"projectUrl":"project/care-closet-kindness-can-help-change-a/9626164/","projectTitle":"Care Closet: Kindness Can Help Change a Life","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Francis RN (Nurse Abbi)","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5679458_orig.jpg?crop=538,538,x0,y50&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755800969074","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5679458"},{"teacherId":6949714,"projectId":9546924,"letterContent":"Your generous donation has added great value to our classroom. The little figures help to teach about different occupations that one can have when growing up. We have already used them quite often in class. Not only do they provide hands on activities that is essential for our students, but we have come up with other ways to use them. One interesting way is that we use them to set a scene and then students have to write about the scene or at least form sentences to explain what they see. It is one of our favorite activities now. I am sure we will come up with other activities as well. Thanks for your time and contribution.","fullyFundedDate":1762019883370,"projectUrl":"project/community-helpers/9546924/","projectTitle":"Community Helpers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Zapico","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6949714"},{"teacherId":9969867,"projectId":9175526,"letterContent":"Our students immediately put the new resources—the specialized interactive notebooks, glue, scissors, and color pencils—to work! We've begun creating and personalizing their math interactive notebooks, which they will use throughout the year as a dynamic study guide. Instead of just taking notes, they are cutting, folding, gluing, and designing pages that help them visualize and practice new strategies and methods.\r\n\r\nFor example, we recently started a unit on ratios. A student named Cheyenne used the color pencils to create a bright, fold-out section where different types of ratios (part-to-part, part-to-whole) are illustrated with diagrams and definitions. She told me, \"It's so much easier to remember the steps when I can move the pieces around and color-code the important parts!\" This personalized approach is making complex concepts stick in a way that traditional note-taking never could.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were happy and elated! The difference between the specialized interactive notebooks and the standard composition notebooks was immediately apparent and made them feel like they were embarking on a truly special project. For students who do not have supplies at home, the assurance that they have all the materials they need right here in the classroom to finish their work has been a huge boost to their confidence and focus. It levels the playing field and ensures every student has the tools for success.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only enhanced our math instruction but has also inspired us to take our learning to the next level. Starting next quarter, we will be using the Lakeshore money we secured to create a classroom economy!\r\n\r\nThis real-world project will educate the students on the responsibility of money, finance, and budgeting while also shoring up essential math skills like rate and percent. They will use their math skills to earn, save, and spend \"classroom cash,\" tying their interactive notebook lessons directly to practical life skills.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for peeking into our classroom and for making such a meaningful investment in our students' education. We can't wait to share the progress of our classroom economy with you!","fullyFundedDate":1746786525320,"projectUrl":"project/numbers-matter-fueling-young-minds-with/9175526/","projectTitle":"Numbers Matter: Fueling Young Minds With School Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pedescleaux","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9969867_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742065704062","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-pedescleaux"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_13409","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":567,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":28,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":55.7,"schoolId":13409,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about T.H.
