Students in my class need the cognitive and fine motor skills that board games help teach. It also provides this group with a different type of motivation in the classroom, and it makes it fun. Many of the games involve counting and game piece movement. Most of the games have on level appropriate words that are suited for this class. These particular board games are on various levels, this is similar to my class. Each of the games was picked by me with a specific student in mind. Therefore, not only are these replacing the games we lost last year, it is specifically geared towards this class and perhaps future students as well.
