Children participate in making these materials as well by painting, playing with and shaping pieces of cardboard in class.\r\n\r\nStudents were excited to hold on to cardboard letters, especially when made in real time in class - turning a piece of recyclable trash into a learning material. Seeing this become a letter made the children excited to hold on to these creations while in class.\r\n\r\nStudents are now asking for letters from their name, helping them make connections with learning materials and their own self. They are excited to see shapes being made to incorporate with their circle time songs. And with the holidays and seasons changing, their learning is extended into seeing nature representations and pumpkin shapes being made with their own hand.
