Many of my students immediately gravitated toward the new setup and were eager to help organize the books into categories. The cushions have made our reading space much more comfortable and inviting, giving students flexible seating options during independent reading, partner reading, and small group activities.\r\n\r\nThe book bins have also helped us create a more organized and student friendly library system, making it easier for students to find books that interest them and return them to the correct place independently. This has encouraged more ownership and responsibility within our classroom. One of my favorite moments was watching students browse the newly organized library and excitedly recommend books to one another.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources daily during literacy centers, read to self time, and book clubs. My goal is to keep fostering a love for reading by creating a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, engaged, and excited to pick up a book. Thank you for helping make our classroom library a space my students truly love.","fullyFundedDate":1758202591564,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-library-brought-to-life/9445816/","projectTitle":"Classroom Library Brought To Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Culley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9966818_orig.jpg?crop=2683,2683,x536,y711&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750077320637","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9966818"},{"teacherId":9966818,"projectId":9386228,"letterContent":"From the very first day of school our flower rug has been the heart of our classroom. Students and families saw it at Open House and right away it gave our room a warm welcoming feel. On the first morning of school the kids walked in, smiled, and immediately sat down on the petals as if it had always been their spot. It has helped them feel comfortable and know exactly where to gather which has made our routines calmer and more predictable.\r\n\r\nWe now use the rug every day for morning meetings, read alouds, whole group lessons and partner discussions. The colorful petals give each child a personal space without me having to assign spots and it has become a natural way to build our classroom community. Because of your generosity we have a classroom centerpiece that is more than just décor. It is a space for learning, connection and joy. As we move into our upcoming ocean unit the rug will continue to be our gathering place for sharing new ideas and working together.
