Students will spend a great deal of time on literacy activities and projects this year and many of those activities/projects will be researched, developed and designed using on of the GSuite tools (Classroom, Docs, Slides, etc.). The printer and ink will make a major difference in our classroom and since our grade level is departmentalized every student (110) at the 4th grade level will be able to benefit from finished products developed through GSuites. From past experience I have learned that a vast majority of these activities/projects will be worthy of display in the classroom and the 4th grade hall, however since our school does not offer classroom printers, nor is there a process in which these works can be sent to a school-wide printer, the sharing of completed student works presently stops at the classroom screen. After all the hard work a student goes through in order to complete some of these activities/projects, it would go a long way in cultivating pride and ownership by providing immediate feedback on a well executed job fully displayed. The printed/published work once displayed for a time can then go home where the students can further share them with their parents who may not have either a computer or a printer (due to economic challenge) at home further demonstrating the importance of having the printer in the classroom along with the ink that will allow for continuous display of student work for the school year as the students improve in their developing and designing skills.
