My students have been using all of the resources funded by you! My students really appreciate having snacks available, especially on Fun Fridays. Having access to a snack has helped improve their focus and engagement in my lessons. Additionally, the sensory materials, such as the fidgets and wiggle cushion have helped many of my students regulated their sensory systems during lessons. One example of this was when one of my 2nd graders saw that I had a new wiggle cushion and asked if she could use it because it \"helps her body to move\" when she's learning. I was impressed with her self-awareness and her ability to advocate for herself. The dinosaur, car and puppet toys have been a huge his in my classroom as well. My kindergarteners love the puppet and like to take turns \"feeding\" the puppet toy food while practicing their speech and language skills. I have one student in particular who loves the dinosaurs and can name almost all of them! My plan for this school year is to develop sensory tool visuals so that students who have difficulty communicating their wants and needs can request sensory supports that would support their learning. Every time my co-teacher used them she had to unplug them and then plug them back in and this was causing a lot of time taken away from the day. \r\n\r\nNow we have a nice new organized Chromebook cart that students can store the technology in and each one has an organized space to put it away. When my co-worker needs to use them we just unplug from the wall and she can take the cart to her room and return it when done. Without the hassle of unplugging and replugging it back in it saves so much time that we can put into students.
