It has been so wonderful to start this school year with clean, safe materials for my students to rest and relax during our school day. Every day my students have a 30 minute rest period after lunch. This year, they have cozy spots with cuddly blankets and it has made such a difference. We have a routine of getting our blankets out of our lockers after lunch time and laying down on the new yoga mats to listen to soothing music with the overhead lights off and just a few gentle lamps to set the mood. Lunch in the cafeteria is very overstimulating and our day is long, having this rest period and yoga mats to relax on has really changed how my students behave and engage in the afternoon. \r\nWithout your donation and these safe, clean, cozy materials, my students would not be able to relax their bodies after lunch and get themselves ready for an afternoon of fun and learning. They are even able to roll their mats up and put them away by themselves now! Such growth in just a few short months!\r\nI am so appreciative of the support you have given my classroom and students. They have been using them non-stop in the classroom to go on letter hunts, look at maps, and read books. We have even used them to write letters on the ceiling!\r\nI can not wait to introduce them to the sorting nest material with our upcoming animal unit. Having two printers has completely changed our daily routine. Instead of just reading about engineering in a textbook, my students are now active creators. The excitement in the room is palpable every time the \"whirring\" of the printers starts. Students who used to struggle with staying engaged during math and science are now the first ones at the door, eager to see if their digital designs successfully turned into physical objects overnight.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students has been the ability to prototype. With two machines, our wait times are cut in half, allowing small groups to test their ideas, identify flaws, and immediately go back to the computer to \"iterate\" or improve their designs. This hands-on process has taught them more about geometry and problem-solving than any worksheet ever could. They aren't just learning how to use a machine; they are learning that failure is just a step toward a better solution.\r\n\r\nI've particularly noticed a few students who typically fly under the radar really blossom with this technology. One student, who often finds traditional writing tasks difficult, has become our \"Lead Technician,\" helping others calibrate the printers and troubleshoot leveling issues. Seeing their confidence grow as they master this professional-grade technology is truly moving. When students learned about shapes, engineering, or even ecosystems, they could design simple models and watch them come to life layer by layer. Instead of only seeing pictures in a book, they could hold geometric solids, tiny animal habitats, or custom-designed tools in their hands. This made lessons more exciting and helped students understand difficult concepts more easily.\r\n\r\nIt also encouraged creativity and problem-solving. Students worked together to plan, measure, and test their designs, learning that mistakes were part of the process. When something didn't print correctly, they discussed what went wrong and tried again—building resilience and teamwork. The 3D printer inspired students to think like inventors, and even the most hesitant learners became eager to participate when they saw their ideas take shape.\r\n\r\nOverall, the printer brought a sense of innovation to the classroom. It showed students that technology isn't just something you use—it's something you can create with. This boosted confidence, curiosity, and a love for hands-on learning that carried over into other subjects as well.","fullyFundedDate":1722339628624,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-creations/8527546/","projectTitle":"Classroom Creations!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Wagner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7106802_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1581030748995","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7106802"},{"teacherId":5792051,"projectId":9064810,"letterContent":"My students are having so much fun exploring these new materials!
