My fifth grade students come to school facing many challenges. Many of my students are English language learners, homeless or highly mobile, and/or receive free/reduced lunch. I have students who speak very limited English, and I have students who perform well above grade level. My students and their families are a big part of our community are very active in finding ways to keep our kids positively engaged throughout the school day and beyond. With my students coming from such diverse backgrounds, I take the challenge of building a strong classroom community head-on!
