With having a new color printer, my students can finally create digital work and have a physical, color reproduction of it to share at home and display. I am also able to create reproductions of student work to take for display purposes without the worry of their originals being ruined after all their hard work.\r\n\r\nThe 3rd graders are currently in the process of recreating their own self portraits using art programs. They love the change of pace from paper and pencil. I am not sure the last time I heard my classes fall absolutely silent for the entire class period! We are able to get a beautiful color print. 4th graders are working in yet another digital format, one that takes slightly longer to finish the project, yet are enjoying the task. \r\n\r\nStudents are thrilled their original work gets selected for the studnent art show. However, our county display area will often fade work and leaves it open to many folks being able touch the work. In the past, I have returned with faded, torn or wrinkled pieces, which is devestating to the students. Being able to send the originals home and preserve their work, while still having quality show pieces has made a world of difference.
