When the boxes of vibrant dyes, blank shirts, and supplies first arrived, the classroom was buzzing with pure excitement. For many of my students, seeing a mountain of brand-new art materials dedicated entirely to their creativity made them feel incredibly valued and supported by the community. They couldn't wait to roll up their sleeves and get started. \r\n\r\nWe used these resources to dive into a hands-on project that combined art, self-expression, and a bit of color-theory science. The students absolutely loved choosing their own patterns, experimenting with color combinations, and watching their designs transform. Beyond the technical fun of creating the shirts, this project became a wonderful community-building experience. Every student walked away with a tangible, wearable memory that represents their individuality and our shared time together that school year. \r\n\r\nIt's been years since this project was funded.
