These tools have already transformed what our students are able to create. As soon as the saws arrived, the room buzzed with excitement—students were amazed that they now had \"real artist tools\" to bring their ideas to life. We recently used them to build large display pieces and three‑dimensional sculptures, and it was incredible to watch students confidently cut and shape cardboard in ways that simply weren't possible before. One group proudly announced, \"It looks just like we imagined!\" as they completed the arches for a collaborative installation.\r\n\r\nThese tools are not only expanding students' creative possibilities right now, but they're also opening doors for future projects. Our next adventure will be designing and constructing intricate marble runs, where students will apply problem‑solving skills, engineering concepts, and creativity all at once. Thanks to the saws, students will be able to build sturdier, more precise structures and experiment with new ideas they're eager to try. Your support has given them the chance to explore art and design with a sense of independence, excitement, and possibility that will continue throughout the year.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our students and helping them dream—and build—bigger.","fullyFundedDate":1757011298325,"projectUrl":"project/found-items-sculptures/9402012/","projectTitle":"Found Items Sculptures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Walters","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10051966_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749307963515","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10051966"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97197","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":578,"numTeachers":47,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":61.5,"schoolId":97197,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stateside Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stateside Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/onslow-county-school-district/stateside-elementary-school/97197"}
