This project is helping me expand the books I have in my classroom so my students never run out of books to read. They especially love graphic novels and cannot get enough of them. I also have a couple boys in my class that love the \"I Survived\" series. Each of my students is able to have their very own pair which allows us to do whole group activities. We use a program called iReady in our school. This is one way students complete benchmark assessments but it also has individualized lessons and learning games. Students are able to work through these during workshop and having the headphones allows my students to be able to work on this at their own pace without having to wait for someone else to finish to share the headphones.\r\nOne of my students often finds school \"boring\". However, since we have had the class set of working headphones, he will often choose to go on a website called Epic when he has finished his other work. He gets excited to finish his work and has really enjoyed spending time reading and learning about things that interest him (such as planes and history) on Epic. This has changed his outlook and he doesn't use the word \"boring\" as much any more when describing his day!\r\nOverall, the headphones have really opened up the ways I am able to use technology and websites in my classroom. My students have many more options for the way they learn now that we can use the computers more often!\r\n\r\nThank you again so much!","fullyFundedDate":1726888033135,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-for-learning/8678349/","projectTitle":"Headphones for Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Caraballo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6143678_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1544718077566","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/j-caraballo"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105121","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":21,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":81.5,"schoolId":105121,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Star Academy - Natomas Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Star Academy - Natomas Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/natomas-unified-school-district/star-academy-natomas-charter-school/105121"}
