Students are already using the materials to practice budgeting, counting money, comparing prices, and making thoughtful choices about what to purchase. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a student proudly save up for two weeks to \"buy\" an item he really wanted, which showed real patience, planning, and self-control.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the store cart set up, their faces lit up. Several immediately began talking about what they wanted to save for, while others were eager to take turns. It was clear right away that this hands-on system made learning feel real and exciting.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve introducing weekly budgeting challenges, such as planning a spending goal or choosing between needs and wants. We'll also rotate roles so every student gets practice as a shopper, cashier, and manager. We are also looking into showing students how credit cards work using the school store. Thanks to our donors, students are building confidence and life skills that will support them far beyond our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755521937377,"projectUrl":"project/smart-spending-practice-makes-purchase/9485481/","projectTitle":"Smart Spending: Practice Makes Purchase!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tucker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2128206"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_34565","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2201,"numTeachers":127,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.8,"schoolId":34565,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stafford High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stafford High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/stafford-county-school-district/stafford-high-school/34565"}
