My students love using them to practice solving equations, and keep track of points during games. I even have students who are no longer in my class who will stop by to borrow them for their own math classes. Students have blanched broccoli, baked whole-wheat banana bread, blended all-fruit-no-sugar smoothies, and steamed quinoa for plant-based high-protein grain bowls. \r\n\r\nWe have lots more hands-on learning activities planned, including recipes like trifle and tea cakes. Soon students will be designing their own food products and marketing them at the school-wide Celebration of learning.
