My students were excited and happy when they saw new materials/toys for them in the classroom. They all wanted to open up everything and explore. The Lakeshore Trace and Write Alphabet has been placed in my writing/literacy center. Here my students can practice writing the letters in the alphabet. The puzzle builders (bugs) have been placed in my science center. The students love completing the puzzle and feeling the raised puzzle pieces. As for the other items, I use them during small groups. My students use the farm and animal counters to work on counting, using 1:1 correspondence and sharing. My students really enjoy the Letter sensory tracing pads. They love the way the liquid feels and how they can erase it. I recently have a new class now and they are all beginning to enjoy the materials as much as my last class. They are no longer climbing underneath furniture in the classroom looking for cozy spaces. It allows them to stay close to the center area, yet have some space, while still being involved. We appreciate your generosity.
