In addition to the difficulties they may endure due to their limited cognitive abilities, it is also hard for them to cope with their mental wellbeing and understand the need for a reset. Our project has given these students a chance to do that! A RESET! It is a safer way for both staff and students to calm down without leaving my classroom and it is a safe place where they can take the time to sit in the new cushioned seats and grab a book from our collection that is slowing growing with the contributions we receive. Since then we have been able to execute our coffee shop on campus. Students from our school have had the opportunity to experience crafted beverages and connect with friends. Students are excited and the Culinary chefs are thinking of lots of ways to incorporate coffee into our school. We recently brewed up over 800 coffees to help reward all A and AB honor roll students.
