They immediately noticed how different the room felt—brighter, more welcoming, and ready for learning. Several students ran to explore the cozy new seating area, while others were drawn to the shelves of books and games. Their joy and curiosity showed me just how much these changes meant to them.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've been using the resources daily. The new furniture has helped create a cozy learning space where students can focus, collaborate, and feel comfortable. The updated lighting makes the room feel calm and inviting, which has already made a difference in keeping students engaged. The books and games have been especially powerful—students are choosing to spend more time working together, which has built both social and emotional skills and stronger peer connections.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll continue weaving these resources into our lessons and projects. My students come to my room for social/emotional groups on a weekly basis, or when they are having moments of really big feelings and they can't quite calm their bodies themselves. Your generosity has transformed not just our space, but the way my students experience learning every day.","fullyFundedDate":1748535955918,"projectUrl":"project/a-comfortable-space-for-all-abilities/9120370/","projectTitle":"A Comfortable Space for all Abilities!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rosales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9641301_orig.png?crop=381,381,x0,y64&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743090096042","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9641301"},{"teacherId":6046528,"projectId":8592371,"letterContent":"Thank you for the STEM supplies for our school library. Countless students and families have benefitted from your generosity. Since receiving our supplies, several classes have come to the library for STEM challenges, or have earned a \"library fun day\" (a reward for great library behavior), and have enjoyed the crafting supplies as well as the STEM challenge cards. In November we hosted an after-school Family STEM event for our second grade families and tasked them with engineering a new animal that could survive in a given habitat. It was fun to see parents thinking and talking through the engineering design process with their children. Using the playdough, cardboard cutters, and other supplies that we received from Donors Choose, the families created their animal and they are now on displayed in our library. I look forward to inviting more students and families into the library for additional creative design thinking opportunities.
