Students gasped when they saw the pastel highlighters and the big packs of snacks. One student loved the zipper pouch she chose and said, \"Now I can keep all my stuff in one place and not lose it!\" Another immediately grabbed a fidget to keep at her desk, saying it helped her feel calmer when she started to get restless. The joy on their faces was proof that these materials were more than just supplies—they were signals that someone believes in them.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have also become a small but meaningful ritual. Students know they'll have something to fuel them before tackling a challenging writing task, which has helped reduce frustration and increase stamina as well as motivate them to want to do well.
