We have received many different French and French-English books in varying language levels which appeal to different interests. \r\n\r\nIn my classroom, we use the books for FVR (Free Voluntary Reading) at which time students are able to select a book of their choosing to read silently for 10 minutes. When the 10 minutes is up, they me for clarification, help with a new word, or they share about what they learned or read about. Because these materials have different language levels, from very beginner and French-English biliteral books to multi-chapter books, the students can select the book that inspires their interests. The activity changes from a challenging reading task to one that is comprehensible and hopefully enjoyable.\r\n\r\nI have enjoyed seeing the joy on their faces when I showed what we received. Some recognizable titles like Harry Potter, My Hero Academia, Alice in Wonderland and Rainbow Fish were among the favorites.
