In this class, many of my middle schoolers are still reading at an elementary level, and finding motivation to read—let alone enjoy it—can be a real challenge. Having a full class set of books has completely transformed our learning environment. Each student now has their own copy to hold, annotate, and take pride in. They can follow along, participate in group readings, and complete assignments and assessments with confidence.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become an interactive, shared experience. Students are engaged, taking turns reading aloud, and collaborating with one another. They're beginning to focus on rhythm, rhyme, and figurative language—key skills that poetry helps strengthen—and they're learning to bridge gaps in comprehension while connecting emotionally with the text. Many of them are relating to the characters and imagining themselves in their situations, which has helped build empathy and deeper understanding. I hear questions every day like, \"When are we reading again?\" and \"When do we get to do the next activity?\"—a clear sign that they're invested and eager to learn.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also made a big impact. They allow students to work independently on their online literacy platforms, supporting lessons that are tailored to their individual reading levels and needs. Because of your support, I'm able to provide a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom where my students feel capable, focused, and supported. These materials haven't just improved their skills—they've helped them see themselves as real readers. Thank you for helping me make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755752561296,"projectUrl":"project/turning-the-page-resources-to-reach-te/9465261/","projectTitle":"Turning the Page: Resources to Reach, Teach, and Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chapman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7955181_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659569232083","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7955181"},{"teacherId":7595724,"projectId":8695019,"letterContent":"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support in bringing new and exciting resources into my classroom. The impact has been incredible! The dry-erase whiteboards have transformed our math lessons into interactive, engaging experiences where students eagerly collaborate to solve problems. Their excitement was contagious the moment they saw the new materials—especially when they explored the various rocks and fossils, allowing them to experience geology firsthand instead of just reading about it in a textbook. The Weather Science Lab has also sparked curiosity, helping students make real-world connections to the science around them.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the vibrant posters now covering our walls have made learning more visually engaging, reinforcing key concepts in a way that sticks with students. The lava lamp and plasma disk have added a \"wow factor\" to our lessons, making discussions about matter and electrical currents more dynamic and memorable. Moving forward, we'll continue using these tools to dive deeper into hands-on science projects, including exploring the Grasshopper Life Cycle model to understand insect development.
