Your gift allowed us to bring fun and educational devices to our students at Sierra K-8. These devices will be used by students for as long as they can to help develop their auditory and memory skills. While the impact may start small, the students that use these devices will grow faster for it. The longer students use these electronic recording devices the more musical skills and creativity they will develop.\r\n\tOne of the games we play with the recording buttons involves recording different piano pitches on each of the buttons and then having the students arrange the buttons from lowest pitch to highest pitch. The students can play this game by themselves or can work as a class. This game teaches students to take turns listening to different pitches and comparing them. This directly helps the students to listen to pitches that they play and hear a difference.\r\n\tThe students themselves even came up with a great game using the recording buttons: Record a song phrase by phrase – one phrase per button – and then scramble the buttons up for someone to reorder them in the correct order of the song. I was really happy to see the students be so creative and resourceful.\r\n\tWe are still trying to figure out how to use the microphone and synthesizer to create music, but for now the students enjoy practicing their microphone skills and creating unique sounds on the synthesizer. I'm confident that in the months to come, we will utilize all of the gifts we received to their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1740105717371,"projectUrl":"project/using-recording-power-to-enrich-our-musi/9100836/","projectTitle":"Using Recording Power to Enrich Our Musicianship at School","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9917305"},{"teacherId":7059669,"projectId":8812436,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our classroom musical whiteboards. At the beginning of the school year students didn't have access to the stand racks and there were music stands all over the place. As such, this greatly affected the amount of time it took to get ready, as well as the amount of time it took to put things away at the end of class. Now that we have our music stands, the class runs more efficiently and we are able to get more done. The students just completed their first performance in front of an audience and they sounded wonderful. Many were nervous, but were excited to perform. Thank you for your contribution and helping these wonderful students reach their goals this semester. We are excited about the future and look forward to all of the amazing things these students will accomplish.
