My students are good people that come from a low socio-economic backgrounds. When I first started teaching 6 years ago there were 24 students on average in my classroom. Today, there are about 42 students in my classroom on average. With the increase in classroom size, it is difficult to provide all students with the resources necessary in order to provide them wiht the quality education that they deserve. The student population is made up of over 90% minority students, with hispanic students making up more than 85% of that population. About 80% of the students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. About one third of the students are classified as ELL, meaning that their primary language is a language other than English. Many of my students are big fans of hands on activities and the more resources that they have, the more successful they will be.
