One special moment was during a phonics lesson when students used their whiteboards to sound out and write CVC words. They were so proud to hold up their boards and show their work! The whisper phones have quickly become a favorite during reading time (students love using them to quietly hear themselves read). The privacy screens help create a calm, focused space during independent work, and the sensory beads are wonderful tools that help students stay calm, regulated, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were full of excitement! There were big smiles, lots of \"oohs\" and \"aahs,\" and so many eager hands ready to try everything. They immediately felt special and cared for, knowing that these supplies were given just for them.\r\n\r\nRight now, our class is working on early reading and writing skills. As a next step, students will continue using the whiteboards to practice stretching out sounds in words and writing simple sentences.
