I want to share how much of a difference your support is making in our classroom every single day.\r\n\r\nShowing Their Thinking in Math\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards and markers you provided have become a core part of our daily math routine. Students use them to solve problems, show each step of their work, and hold up their answers for me to see. This gives me an instant picture of who understands the lesson and who needs more support, so I can adjust my teaching in the moment. Because mistakes are easy to erase, students are more willing to take risks and try new strategies without fear of getting it wrong. Even my most hesitant learners are participating more.\r\n\r\nBuilding Anchor Charts Together\r\n\r\nThanks to the chart paper, we can now create anchor charts together as we learn, capturing strategies, vocabulary, and examples in our own words. These charts stay on our walls as reference tools, and I regularly see students walk over to them during independent work to remind themselves of a strategy. This helps learning stick and builds students' independence.\r\n\r\nThe Overall Impact\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our lessons are more interactive, more visual, and more engaging. Students are more confident explaining their reasoning, and our classroom discussions are richer because everyone has a way to share their thinking.\r\nGifts like yours go directly to the students who use these supplies every day, and the impact is clear. Thank you for investing in them.","fullyFundedDate":1778515909861,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-grow/10268709/","projectTitle":"Help Us Grow!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Spengler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10498734"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127679","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":413,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":78,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.7,"schoolId":127679,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sheila Y Oliver Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sheila Y Oliver Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/east-orange-school-district/sheila-y-oliver-academy/127679"}
