The kids are excited to be using the bins to store and organize their writing folders. The other set of bins are being used to store the Reading pouches that are being used for Accountable Independent Reading(A.I.R). \r\nThe kids in my kindergarten class have really enjoyed having a bright and colorful storage bin to use for all their writing materials. The black storage caddies are being used to organize every tables materials that they use for independent work time. They are a great way to keep their pencil cases organized and neat. Our biography collection was very outdated, small, and limited in its representation of diverse women. Adding these books meant that we more than doubled the number of biographies of women, and I was able to remove many biographies that were over 40 years old from the collection. \r\n\r\n Our students loved getting to learn about women who played their favorite sport, made discoveries in a scientific or mathematical field that they also love, serve(d) in government and work(ed) to bring about change, entertain audiences, and work in careers in other fields. They give a revitalized, bright look to the classroom area of our library, which is the first thing that you see as you enter the library.\r\n\r\n There is nothing worse for our smallest students than not being able to pull out and push in the old, large, heavy wooden chairs that have been there for decades. The new blue ergonomic chairs are much lighter, which lets even our smallest student move the chairs by themselves. Their eyes lit up the first time that chairs arrived, and we are now up to eight new chairs this year, which makes competition for them quite fierce! :)\r\n\r\n Thank you again for giving us chairs that allow students with excess energy the ability to bounce up and down without distracting others in the class. I have seen a drastic increase of good behavior in my classroom because my students are excited to play with the toys that have been donated.\r\n\r\nThe new toys arrived at several different times and deliveries. Most of them arrived the week after winter break so many of the kids thought that the toys were a gift from Santa. I explained to them that they were donated by very generous people who want us to have nice toys to play with during Choice Time.
