When the students first saw the giant sets of Magna-Tiles and the glowing sensory aquarium lamp, their eyes lit up with pure joy. One of my students, who usually struggles to sit for more than a minute, grabbed a \"wobble cushion,\" placed it on the rug, and sat perfectly engaged through our entire morning story. Another child was completely mesmerized by the \"Feelings Family\" puppets, using them to show me how he felt \"happy\" to be at school. Seeing them immediately gravitate toward the tools that help them feel regulated and ready to learn was a powerful reminder of how much these resources were needed.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these resources to bridge the gap between sensory play and academic skills. Our small groups have been transformed by the Elkonin boxes and reading rods; the students love \"building\" words with physical blocks, which makes the science of reading so much more accessible for them. During our \"creative hour,\" the dot markers and alphabet dough stampers are the stars of the show. The children are building up their hand strength with the Play-Doh and \"Tri-Write\" pencils, which is a huge step toward independent writing. Meanwhile, the sensory mats and weighted lap pads are providing the \"grounding\" my students need to stay focused during these higher-level tasks.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve a \"Building Our World\" project. We plan to use the Magna-Tiles and pattern blocks to recreate our neighborhood, while using our new headphones and dry-erase boards to record and \"write\" stories about the people who live there. These tools have allowed me to differentiate my teaching so that every child, regardless of their specific needs, has a way to participate and succeed. One of my students, who often struggles with the morning transition, sat down, looked up at the \"stars,\" and immediately began to relax. It was the perfect start to our day. The kids were also so curious about the new rolling utility cart and the colorful storage baskets; they loved seeing all their \"Crayon Rocks\" and sensory tools organized so neatly in their new \"homes.\"\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these tools to master our daily routines and build fine motor strength. The Eamay pocket chart has been a lifesaver for our small group rotations—the students check the chart to see where they go next, which builds their independence and reduces anxiety about what comes next in their schedule. During art time, the students have been using the Crayon Rocks to work on their \"tripod grip.\" Because the crayons are shaped like little stones, the children are naturally strengthening their hand muscles while they draw, which is a huge step toward writing readiness. The self-adhesive dots have also allowed me to create custom, interactive choice boards that the kids can manipulate themselves.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve a \"Space and Stars\" exploration project where we will use the galaxy projector as our backdrop for storytelling and sensory play. We'll be using our colorful baskets to sort different \"space treasures\" and using our sticky notes to label the constellations we \"discover\" in the classroom. These resources have provided the organization I need to be a better teacher and the sensory environment my students need to be successful learners. It was a small but beautiful moment of self-representation and pride. Having the professional Scotch laminator has also been a game-changer; the children love seeing their custom learning schedules and \"themed calendar accents\" come out shiny and durable, making our classroom feel organized and high-quality just for them.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these resources to bridge the gap between play and academic readiness. The \"Learning Without Tears\" workbooks and the \"Common Core Math 4 Today\" sets are allowing me to provide consistent, daily practice that meets each of my 20 students at their specific level. Whether we are using the math flashcards for a quick morning game or sitting down for small-group reading with our new leveled books, these materials ensure that every child has something they can successfully navigate. The laminator has allowed me to create reusable \"work mats\" from our reproducible workbooks, which is perfect for my students who benefit from practicing a task multiple times with a dry-erase marker.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve launching our \"Author's Workshop,\" where the students will use their new colored pencils and \"Building Writers\" journals to create their very own \"published\" books. We plan to laminate the covers so they can keep them forever! These resources have truly given my students the tools they need to see themselves as writers, mathematicians, and capable learners. We used the art materials during structured activities to practice following multi-step directions with embedded concepts (specifically spatial concepts such as under, next to, and on top of). One meaningful moment was watching students carefully listen, process each step, and then proudly check their work when they realized they had followed every direction correctly!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the art supplies, they were so excited and immediately eager to begin the project. The excitement carried over into our lessons, as the materials helped keep students motivated and focused. Because the activities felt fun and creative, students were more willing to participate, take their time, and self-correct when needed. The art supplies made abstract language concepts more concrete and accessible for learners who benefit from visual and hands on supports.\r\n\r\nBeyond following directions, the art activities also created natural opportunities to practice social communication skills. Students worked on asking peers for materials, sharing supplies, taking turns, and using polite language during group activities. Moving forward, we will continue using these materials to support increasingly complex directions and collaborative projects, helping students generalize these language and social skills into their classroom routines. Having the erasers on the back of the marker has been a lifesaver! They have also enjoyed using the \"space man/animal\" to help them space out their words during writing activities. I model for them using our document camera and students follow along using their own \"space man/animal\" to mimic what I am doing on the doc cam.\r\n\r\nThe read aloud books have been great conversation starters to help address some social issues that have come up in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you so much once again for helping me provide these amazing resources and materials for my kindergarten class. We've already begun using the Elkonic Box magnetic answer boards during small-group instruction, and they have made such a difference. My students love being able to quickly show their thinking, erase, try again, and proudly hold up their answers. One of my favorite moments so far was during an ELA small-group session when a student said, \"I feel like a real teacher with this board!\"—and the whole group lit up with excitement.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions to the other materials were just as joyful. When they first saw the magnetic giant lined paper we now use for our daily agenda and the magnetic sentence strips that display our learning targets, several students ran right up to the board to read everything aloud. Seeing our schedule and goals so clearly has helped them feel more prepared and confident each day.\r\n\r\nOne of the activities that has really supported our learning this year is using grouping circles for hands-on comparing and contrasting. My students love being able to physically sort items, ideas, or vocabulary words into each circle. It turns abstract thinking into something concrete—helping them see similarities and differences right in front of them. This hands-on approach keeps them engaged, encourages discussion, and makes it much easier for them to understand how concepts connect or differ. It's been especially helpful during small-group lessons, where students can talk through their reasoning and learn from one another.\r\n\r\nAnd our new reading-corner chair has truly become a classroom favorite. Students take turns using it during independent reading time, and many of them say it helps the space feel cozy, calm, and special—like their own little reading escape.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our next steps include continuing to strengthen small-group learning with the magnetic boards, adding student-created items to our daily agenda display, and encouraging even more reading stamina and joy in our cozy corner.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students tools that support their learning and bring genuine excitement into our classroom.
