They came on separate days, so every time we got a new one, they got even more excited that more students would be able to use them at the same time. Every day when a class comes into my room, the first thing they ask me is \"whose turn is it today in the chairs.\" They tell me all the time that they are grateful that people chose to donate them to our classroom. They tell me that those chairs are much more comfortable than the desks that they usually sit in. They were also very surprised that people would choose our small-town class to donate to.\r\n\r\nThe headphones that were donated have also been very useful in my classroom. Students have been using them in the afternoons to listen to their independent assignments on the computer. This has made our afternoons much quieter and calmer. This type of environment is necessary in my classroom because I have students with different disabilities in my room. Some of these students have a hard time focusing and being in the classroom when it gets too loud. The headphones have made the classroom a more comfortable place for this specific group of students.","fullyFundedDate":1729732993968,"projectUrl":"project/comfortable-seating-for-kids-and-materia/8666963/","projectTitle":"Comfortable Seating for Kids and Materials Not All Can Afford","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dobak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9682145"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47871","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1138,"numTeachers":74,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.8,"schoolId":47871,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Shamokin Area Elementary & Intermediate School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Shamokin Area Elementary & Intermediate School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/shamokin-area-school-district/shamokin-area-elementary-school/47871"}
