Many of my students struggle to put their feelings into words, manage frustration, or understand the perspectives of others. Through engaging, neurodiversity-affirming books, they will see themselves represented, learn that they are not alone, and gain tools they can actually use in their everyday lives. This will strengthen not only their emotional regulation and problem-solving skills, but also their willingness to try, take risks, and persist when challenges arise.\r\n\r\nThese books will also create a ripple effect beyond individual students. They will be used in small groups, one-on-one counseling, and classroom counseling lessons, reaching all of my students throughout the year. Teachers and families will benefit from them as well, giving everyone a shared language and consistent strategies to support each child across settings. Most importantly, these resources will help move my students closer to their goal of thriving in the least restrictive environment—starting with small steps into general education classes and, ultimately, returning to their neighborhood schools with the confidence, independence, and skills they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1773838266263,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-learning-books-to-help/10149935/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Learning Books to Help My Counseling Students Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gizzo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8558654_orig.jpg?crop=810,810,x0,y29&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764256328773","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8558654"},{"teacherId":6805071,"projectId":9529469,"letterContent":"My students were thrilled with the new books when they were delivered to our class!
