Students were especially excited to explore the treasure box items and loved having new choices to use during learning and as rewards for their hard work.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students use the whisper phones during reading practice. They are excited to hear themselves sound out words and blend sounds, which helps make practicing feel like play. The new resources have also helped our classroom feel more inviting and student-centered. Next, we will continue using these materials during literacy centers, small-group instruction, and independent learning as we build our kindergarten reading and classroom routines. Many children now use this space independently when they feel overwhelmed, showing growth in their ability to self-regulate and recognize their own needs.\r\n\r\nThe sensory mats, especially the colorful liquid tiles, have been a huge hit with students. They love watching the swirling colors move under their feet and hands, and the visual and tactile stimulation provides instant calm and grounding. Fidget toys and other sensory tools have also supported focus and reduced anxiety during challenging moments, while the social-emotional tools guide students in identifying their feelings and practicing coping strategies.\r\n\r\nThis calm-down corner has quickly become an essential part of our classroom, helping students feel supported, understood, and safe. Because of your donation, my students are not only developing stronger emotional regulation skills now, but they are also gaining strategies they can carry with them throughout their lives. Our new library display shelf has also transformed the way students interact with books.
