They loved being part of the process and seeing our classroom transform.\r\n\r\nWe now have soft lighting that we can adjust in different corners of the classroom instead of relying on harsh overhead lights all day. One of my students recently commented that he has not been getting headaches in our classroom anymore. That simple statement really showed me how much these small changes can impact our students.\r\n\r\nStudents have also been enjoying our comfortable chairs and couch, which now have new cushioning provided through the project. They are able to study and complete their work in a more comfortable environment. We have also been using aromatherapy in one corner of the room to create a calming space when students need it.\r\n\r\nThe plants, decorative borders, and other small touches have made our classroom feel warm and inviting. Other students who visit our room often comment on how much they love it, and some have even asked if they can come down and use the space. It has become a place where students genuinely want to be.\r\n\r\nThe resources are also making a difference in our daily instruction. We now have vibrant chalk markers that are much more colorful than traditional dry erase markers. They make our notes and instruction on the whiteboards more visually interesting and appealing to students.\r\n\r\nOur students will also be using the posters we received as part of their Study Skills lessons. Each week, we will focus on one poster and discuss how the information can help them as learners. After the lesson, students will take ownership by placing the poster on our classroom walls. This will allow the resources to become part of our instruction while also giving students a role in creating their learning environment.\r\n\r\nEven the little things have made a difference. Our students have enjoyed having a hard candy while they work or a piece of gum to chew while they focus during testing.\r\n\r\nWhat started as a project to make our classroom more comfortable has already made such a meaningful difference. These resources have helped us create a space where students can feel calm, comfortable, engaged, and ready to learn. Your generosity made it possible for our AP Environmental Science students to use pH meters, and that equipment has had a lasting impact on how they learn and think about anthropogenic impacts on our oceans. \r\n\r\nWith these tools, students are no longer limited to estimating pH with indicators alone—they are able to collect precise, real-time data and see how even small changes in acidity can signal larger environmental shifts. This has been especially powerful in our unit on ocean acidification. Students can directly measure changes in pH, analyze trends, and connect those results to the effects of increased atmospheric CO₂ on marine ecosystems.\r\n\r\nWe are very grateful that your initial contribution continues to benefit students well beyond the original project.
