To keep my students engaged, it helps to keep them writing on dry erase boards with markers. What kid doesn't like markers?! The best part is that we can use these in math, language arts and content lessons. \r\nI've done a publishing project at previous schools and it has been a win with parents and students alike because it is a great memento that can be saved and treasured for many years.","fullyFundedDate":1762261017948,"projectUrl":"project/publishing-party/9713338/","projectTitle":"Publishing Party","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Camire","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5222309_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1520818763387","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/e-camire"},{"teacherId":10065609,"projectId":9436942,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! The new reading nook chair has quickly become a favorite spot in our classroom! Students now have a cozy corner to read independently, and it has really encouraged more of them to pick up a book. \r\n\r\nThe 'Bad Guys' book series (books 1-10) have been a huge hit. In fact, we started a class read-aloud with The Bad Guys books, and then students were able to choose their favorite to read on their own. One of the students even finished the first five books in just a few days because they were so hooked! \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new reading nook chair, they were thrilled! They couldn't wait to sit in it and start reading. I had a group of students jump right in and start reading The Bad Guys books as soon as I introduced them. The treasure box has been a big hit too! They were so excited to see the variety of prizes, and it created an immediate sense of excitement and competition in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe new books, especially Lemonade Wars and What If Everybody Did That?, sparked some really thoughtful discussions about making choices and the consequences of our actions. They were eager to dive into these topics.\r\n\r\nWe are currently diving deeper into independent reading with the Bad Guys series and other books. In addition, we will be doing a project based on What If Everybody Did That?, where students will create posters or presentations showing how their actions can impact the classroom community and the world around them. \r\n\r\nWe will also continue to reward students with treasure box prizes for meeting reading goals and demonstrating positive behavior. The snacks are also great for students who forget a snack a home. We recently had benchmark testing and students who forgot a snack were so appreciative to have one to fuel them during the test!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for the flexible seating, books, snacks, and treasure box prizes! They have helped our classroom immensely and the class has loved them!","fullyFundedDate":1757683176507,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9436942/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ward","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10065609"},{"teacherId":5222309,"projectId":9494708,"letterContent":"My students are very excited about all the \"goodies\" that have arrived. It helped those who can be resistant to breathing techniques to give it a try. \r\nI plan to roll out the mindful moments as needed over the course of the year. I notice the students feel more confident to read a book after they have heard me read it. Another strategy I use to get kids excited about reading is read to a partner.
