We received loads of yarn, hooks, and pattern books for the students to use at school and take home to work on their projects throughout the week. Students have been working on many different types of projects, from stuffed animals to sweaters, while many other students have been learning the basics. Either way, your donations have helped curate a space for students to come be creative, learn a new skill, or practice their skills with friends. \r\nWhen the students first saw the large basket of yarn and hooks, they were amazed. I explained how people had donated to send us supplies, and they were all so grateful and excited to look through the pattern books to select their first creations. After winter break, crochet club will continue because of your donations and the large amount of supplies that still remain ready for the students to use. Many of our students have only used simple calculators at home, so getting to use these in class has been a whole new experience for them. They're not just checking answers—they're exploring, trying out ideas, and taking risks they never would've taken before. Instead of getting stuck on long computations, they can finally focus on understanding what the math means, and that has opened up so many \"aha!\" moments.\r\n\r\nWhat the kids love most is the confidence the calculators give them. Suddenly, students who used to freeze up during multi-step problems are leaning in and giving things a real shot. They're double-checking their work, comparing strategies with friends, and celebrating when they realize, \"Hey, I actually get this!\" The calculators make the learning feel less scary and more like a puzzle they're excited to solve.\r\n\r\nA few students in particular have really blossomed. One student who usually shuts down during math now picks up his calculator with a little smile, ready to try. Another student who tends to work slowly has told me she loves being able to keep up with her group because the calculator helps her stay on track. These moments have been so special to see. Your generosity didn't just give us classroom tools—you gave my students confidence, independence, and a sense of pride they carry with them every day.","fullyFundedDate":1759512252342,"projectUrl":"project/count-on-us-calculators-for-confident-m/9725527/","projectTitle":"Count on Us: Calculators for Confident Math Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Churney","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9873473_orig.jpg?crop=550,550,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734123671710","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9873473"},{"teacherId":1634101,"projectId":9746865,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support with our Soaring to New Heights reading project.
