The video production class creates a program that is shown campus-wide. The video production crew collaborates with other groups on campus to produce this content and are very proud of their work. Some examples of what is produced are announcements and updates with the leadership class, cooking lessons with the culinary arts class, and highlights from the sports teams.
The content the class produces not only helps students by providing information about campus activities, but also helps create a culture on campus. Students often discuss what they see on the show and provide input on what they would like to see featured in the future. The class not only gets to learn how to produce content, but also how to evaluate and respond to feedback.
This year, we are going from a biweekly schedule to a weekly one. As a result, we need to have a faster turnaround on our projects. One of the most common reasons for delays is falling behind schedule due to production issues. The iPad would help minimize such issues by providing a platform for students to work on during preproduction. Also, it can be used as a teleprompter during production. The iTunes card would help pay for the apps needed for those activities. The sleeve protects the iPad. The additional tripods and microphones will make the students' job much easier.
